In West Bengal, Fraudulent Couple Promises High Returns, Cheats 400 Women With Rs 4 Crore
The incident took place in the Nav Kamargathi Colony area under the jurisdiction of the New Barrackpore Police Station.

Similar to the characters from Bunty Aur Babli, this couple has uniquely deceived many people. It’s alleged that around Rs 4 crore have been swindled from approximately 400 women in the area. The revelation of this incident has caused a stir in the New Barrackpore area. Aarti Roy and Vinoy Roy, a couple, are accused of repeatedly extorting large sums of money from poor women in the area by promising high returns and jewellery.

The incident took place in the Nav Kamargathi Colony area under the jurisdiction of the New Barrackpore Police Station and recently came to light. The couple, along with their entire family, reportedly collected money from around 400 women in the area. As soon as the scheme was discovered, the fraudulent family fled.

Currently, hundreds of women who were cheated have gathered and started protesting in the area. The agitated crowd even vandalized the house of the fraudsters. Police from New Barrackpore arrived at the scene to manage the situation. The defrauded women are now left confused and distraught.

Some of the victims had mortgaged their land and houses, while others handed over gold jewellery, believing in the promises of the fraudulent couple. Initially, when a few people received a large sum of money with interest, the women of the area trusted the couple. They hoped that the couple’s promises would improve their lives in the future and solve all their problems.

Unfortunately, they did not foresee the disastrous outcome. Almost all the women from that area are now searching for a solution, with some expressing feelings of despair, saying they see no choice but to take drastic measures.

Another couple in Prayagraj cheated people of around Rs 400 crore and escaped. The victims, including students, traders, lawyers, housewives and others, were lured into investing in real estate only to get their hard-earned money from the couple, who disappeared after two years.

Several police teams have been formed to track down and arrest the fraudulent couple. Authorities are currently collecting information about their properties and bank accounts.

A case has been filed against Abhishek Dwivedi, the director of Niharika Ventures, along with his wife Niharika and father Om Prakash. In their police complaint, the fraud victims stated that the accused started a company two years ago promising returns on investments in the real estate sector. Investors were lured with properties in different areas of the district. Within two years, over 200 people invested in the company and even persuaded their acquaintances to invest too.
