Mumbai: It is sculpture with a lot of spunk. Arzan Khambatta's solo show is on in Mumbai and it's called I'm Human.
For a sculptor who believes in art for arts' sake, Arzan Khambatta is making sure his show is shaping up well. Arzan is making the most out of metal for these sculptures, with a quirky sense of wordplay and humour.
There are sculptures called God Nose and Aas Paas. Absurd one may say but it's this sense of the absurd, that have found many buyers, including the Bachchans.
"The buyer has to equally crazy as the artists I think. Sometimes you can't understand the whole piece and you have to see it again and again. It's like a movie just as compelling," says he.
The sculptures made of mixed metal, were painstakingly created over a period of three years, by Arzan, regarded as one of India's most prolific sculptors.
With no claims to being high brow art, these works are sure to leave a smile on your face.
