Director Anees Bazmee opened up about his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 clashing with Singham Again. Both films are the third films in their respective franchises and are among the highly anticipated films of 2024. The films are slated to release this Diwali. This is not the first time that big titles have clashed on the occasion of Diwali. However, will any of the films postpone? Anees and T-Series have time and again confirmed that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will not change their release date.
In a recent interview, Anees Bazmee was asked if he has discussed the film’s clash with Ajay Devgn. The filmmaker said he hasn’t and added that the decision to clash is the producers. “Why should I talk to him? It’s a business decision between producers, and I am just the director. Singham Again’s team is insisting on a Diwali release. Clashes are never a good idea. I know that we had announced Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s release date a year in advance, but what can we do? I’ve always maintained that a good film doesn’t need a date to work,” he said.
Shedding light on his part, he said, “I’m the last person to get involved in box-office numbers and release dates. These are decisions and numbers calculated by producers and distributors.” He added that the clash is not affecting him. “Both films are looking good, so both can do well at the box-office. Ajay, Akshay and Rohit are dear friends. They know Anees bhai will never call us to change the movie’s date. I’ve never done that. Each film has its own destiny,” Bazmee said.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead. The film marks Vidya Balan’s return to the franchise and also stars Madhuri Dixit. This time around, Kartik is paired opposite Triptii Dimri.
As for Singham Again, the film is directed by Rohit Shetty. Although Ajay Devgn is headlining the film, Singham Again also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh.
