'Money Can't Buy Everything': Why A Rs 54 Lakh-A-Year Job Wasn't Enough For This Man
The man walked away from his 54 LPA leadership job in January 2024 and took a three-month break.

Starting your own company and making it successful demands immense effort and dedication. Many people take the bold step of quitting stable jobs and investing all their savings to bring their startup vision to life. It takes courage and a strong belief in the dream. Parantap Chowdhury, a former Assistant Vice President at Square Yards, exemplified this boldness when he decided to leave his well-paying job, where he earned an annual salary of Rs 54 lakh. He made the move to not only create a more fulfilling life and spend quality time with loved ones but also to build his own remote, digital and profitable business

After years of dedicating his time and efforts to companies like BYJU and Square Yards, Parantap Chowdhury took the life-changing decision. He shared his story on LinkedIn, giving a detailed account of how he eventually left his corporate job.

In his LinkedIn account, he wrote, “Over the last 7 years, I helped build 2 high-growth startups, spending half the time learning how to grow a business and the other half executing it," further highlighting that these things got him four promotions in 6 years, delivered a revenue of over Rs 100 crore, trained more than 5,000 salespeople, managed a huge sales team and even built an ARR segment worth Rs 50 crore.

Noting that the extreme work left him burned out, Chowdhury walked away from his 54LPA leadership job in January 2024 and took a three-month break.

He spent his free time deliberating over a lot of things regarding the loopholes in the field of sales and how he could solve them. After giving it a lot of thought, he decided to help companies sell better through his own digital business. His offers are open to creators, legacy businesses, freelancers, early start-ups and large companies, all of which have different goals to achieve.

Mentioning that he would have earned over Rs 9 lakh in the three months he took off, Chowdhury added, “I would have earned Rs 9,81,000 in these 90 days if I had stayed at my job. I earned less than 10% of that. But I’ve lived more in these 3 months, than the 3 years before that. Money can buy most things, but not everything."

Social media users reacted to the post, praising his courage and determination. A user wrote, “This is a story of growth. Looking forward to what your 180 days on LinkedIn would look like," while another commented, “It takes a lot of courage to leave that stable income and take an unconventional path but you have done it Parantap. Everything will pay off one day and you will be proud of taking this path."

“Congratulations on taking the leap to prioritize what truly matters," a comment read.
